Hi everyone, I have some fondant I bought last Halloween. Some aren’t opened and some are. The ones that are were are wrapped tightly and everything is stored in a cool clean place in a container. The best before date was May this year ( so 5 months past )  I opened them up and colour taste and smell was fine. Just kneaded it for a little and it was normal consistently. Is it still safe to use? It’s just for sugar cookies for myself and the family. Thank you in advance: )

I’m the kind of person who not hesitate to use it... you said it looks & small fine... & it’s for family only sooo go ahead.   The important thing is your nose:)

I agree.  I've had fondant for years and if it is kept well sealed, it seems to last forever.  Of course, I am using it for sculptures and not consumption, so if it works well, I use it.  The worse thing that I've seen happen to fondant is that it drys out and becomes hard.  I guess it might mold, if the humidity was high, but I've never had any to mold.
