Hello! I am tasked with making an Italian Love Cake for a wedding soon. As I'd never had experience with this cake before, I've been practicing. All of my attempts have turned out okay, but slightly wet/greasy with an almost slightly wet spongey effect on the top of the cake. Any ideas how I can eliminate this or is that how it is meant to be? Thanks for any help!
