Hi...me again.  How do you stencil with airbrush or buttercream on a cake without it denting the orignal layer of buttercream underneath?  Amy kind of pressure when stenciling with buttercream seems to dent the cake.  Thnx

Your cake needs to be thoroughly chilled before wrapping a stencil around it.

And of course I would think the use of a crusting icing........ 

I remember a hint about using stencils from I believe Frances Kuyper (the original “Cake Lady”) use a piece of tulle between the icing and stencil so the stencil  does not stick to icing, messing it up.
