Sorry if this has been asked before but I can't find the answer.

Basically I'm just wondering if there is any type of spoon that is best for pre-loading for baby to use? I've seen the long thin ones (presumably normally used for puree feeding) and also the shorter ones with curved handles (I think these are supposed to be easier for a baby to handle when they are learning to self-feed, but I'm not sure if this holds for BLW as well as older ones).

Do you really need those silicone covered spoons to feed baby their first foods e.g https://www.geekwrapped.com/guides/best-baby-spoons Can a regular teaspoon really hurt them? Not a huge expense, but looking to avoid unnecessary baby purchases!

Anyone tried different spoons and have any insight on which might be best? Is there anything else I should consider when choosing a spoon?

This is a site for cake decorating —  has nothing to do with babies
