I am wanting to make a 2 tier cake 8" and or 9" cake with the round cake pans. But i keep hearing n getting different information on what i need to do. Please help its my daughters first birthday
Most tiered cakes are made up of two 2” layers with filling between A good combination is an 8” or 9” round topped with a 6” tier Supportas are needed in the larger bottom tier & the 6” needs to be on a 6” cake board Supports can be plastic drink straws Carefully push one straight into the cake & mark/cut when it is even with the top of the cake remove & cut 2 more exactly the same size then place them in the cake forming a triangle within a 6” circle where the top cake will sit They will hold up the top cake -keep it from sinking into bottom tier You really need to check out You Tube on how to stack cake tiers but what I just told you is a good start To one reason you’re getting different information is because what works for one might not work for another I bet most have similar info w/ minor differences
