Hi I would like to make a traditional Christmas cake with marzipan but wanted to try marshmellow fondant covering. 

I have never made it or used this type of fondant before. If anyone with experience could offer some advice please. 

I may want to make some as gifts for family and friends too how far in advance can the cakes be made so the fondant still tastes good ?
