Hi there. I'm making a cake for my Mum's 80th birthday next weekend. I am covering the cake in buttercream icing and decorating the the cake with chocolate decorations (flowers, shards and balls). Will the buttercream make the chocolate go soft? Will the colour of the chocolate affect the buttercream (white buttercream and blue chocolate that I've coloured)? Thanks for reading and thanks for your help in advance!

Since chocolate is not affected by moisture, it will be fine.

first of all I love your screen name blush

then there is some kind of new member delay on being able to "reply" to posts so please start a new thread to continue any discussion -- at some point all of a sudden you will be enabled to "reply" but not for a while -- maybe like 30 days — I think it might have to do with time and activity levels -- please respond in a new thread if you want/need to —

best to you
