Hello !
I have been a way for a while, and now I was asked by my sister to do her birthday cake with this kind of effect, but I can't find the name of this technique to look for tutorials on the web.
Does anyone know how you call this kind of double buttercream layer thing?
P.s. I don't know where this photos came from, she sent them to me, but they are not mine. Congrats to who made them because they are beautiful! :)
You would certainly have more control with fondant, but I believe it would be doable with buttercream or ganache.
I just saw a cake like this on Instagram! I hope this link works.

Wow that’s great So nice of that poster to show how it is done with b’cream Would never have thought it could be done like that
I had just come across it and remembered this post. She has a full tutorial on her site. I definitely would not have thought that it could be done in buttercream. They're beautiful cakes.
Wow, I never would have guess! I'm very impress that it is done this way. Thanks for sharing.
