Has anyone tried adding cookies or candy to cake batter before baking? I’m think of chunks of Oreo or m&ms/smarties or jelly sweets (sorry I don’t know the American equivalent of these).
I've used them between the layers, but not in the batter.
I've used Oreos in batter before with no problems, but never candy.
I think the only issue you may run in with regards to colored candy such as m&ms or smarties would be the colored shell would bleed a bit into the batter. Kind of like how sprinkles would melt and bleed into the batter to create the confetti look.
