So I’m making my DD her snake cake but have been working late hours all week so I’ve been doing it in bits. The cake is all baked and chilling in the deep freeze wrapped up. I was gonna show it and crumb coat tonight, lightly wrap in Saran Wrap and have it hang out on the counter in a sealed (as much as I can) Cale box until I got home from work tomorrow to put fondant on it and imprint that.

My fiancé told me he’s finally got a guy to come take care of our garbage disposal tomorrow morning-it’s nasty and has needed to be taken care of for months (

It sounds to me like the cake has already been exposed to those smells.......I don't think there would be a problem as long as it is in plastic wrap/bag or similar.

Why not chill the cake after it has been crumb coated until it crusts, the wrap it in plastic wrap and leave it refrigerated?
