So I have a tonnnn of leftover cake from the last cake someone just commissioned and just for experience and fun, I would really like to make a cake that looks like a bowl of ramen with a 3D effect!
Basically, what I'm asking is would it work if I mixed the leftover cake with frosting and then placed it inside of a bowl and froze it to use as my actual cake base? Then cover it in fondant and continue my creation that way? Or would it be too unstable once it began to thaw? Any input helps! Thank you
Here's an example of the cake I wanna try!
^^
You could cover your frozen cakepop mix with a nice, thick coat of ganache for strength and it should hold up very well.
I agree with ms. sandra-- and if you squish it together enough it could stand with buttercream too -- very cool cake -- would love to see some pictures too
So I actually went in a different direction with my cake, while I still intend to make the 3D ramen cake I am absolutely obsessed with the show Rick and Morty so I used the leftover cake to make a character from the show, pickle Rick! Haha.
