My current bride would like a gold pedestal for her cake. The only one I have is a traditional large silver pedestal. Has anyone sprayed this type of pedestal with an edible gold spray and then washed it off afterwards?

I would probably just rent a gold cake stand and include the cost of that rental into the overall price for the client.  If a client wants something specific then they should pay for it.  Plus you should be including the cost of these items (as a rental fee) in your total costs to your client anyways because you need that money to pay for upkeep and replacement down the road.

I could be mistaken, but I doubt edible gold would adhere to silver or any other metal.
