Hello,

i am trying to achieve a balloon look with sphere lollipops on a two tiered cake where I have an image if a girl holding balloons.  I wanted to make sphere shaped lollipops but want to use bendable wire to look more like balloon vs stick......will wire hold the lollipop??  Or will the weight knock it over?

thank you!!!!!

It depends upon the gauge wire used.  I suggest 18 gauge or heavier.

Hi Sandra,

Thanks for the tip....will the metal attach to the hot candy?  I have only ever used wooden sticks.

I am sorry,  tal. Didn't realize you were actually making real lollipops from melted sugar.  Maybe the wire would not be a good choice for that.  If you wrapped them in white floral tape first, the candy would probably stick to it, I don't know???  I think I would use wooden skewers to be on the safe side.
