Happy Friday everyone and Happy Labor Day long weekend to those of you celebrating it! I'm not sure how It's already the last day of August but here we are.
I'm working on a simple slab cake for an event tomorrow and also have to get one baked for my nephew's birthday on Sunday. I'll post pictures when I get a chance.

I did a quickie as a gift for my friends whom we visited yesterday, chocolate cake with vanilla-almond buttercream and chocolate drip. The color of the chocolate dip is off in the picture.
This was my attempt at a 5 nights at Freddy's cake. I think I missed the mark a little on a couple of the characters but the customer loved it.
That is a totally awesome cake, thecanadian160! I don't know where you think you fell short!

I am working on 2 small cakes for tomorrow, A wedding cake to feed 30, working on roses, made the lace and now realize I have to make fondant because I'm out. And a 10 inch tres leches cake for a birthday.
This week I held a pop up featuring my newest flavor. I have added avocado flavored buttercream to my menu. This is my Lemon cupcake with avocado buttercream. The buttercream has diced Hatch New Mexico roasted chili peppers. It was a hit. I also made chocolate cupcakes to pair with it but no chili peppers in that one.
I have many more cakes I've done so I won't tie up the group page, 
Well, I wouldn't have thought of that, auntginn! My husband and I both are addicted to avocadoes and chilies, so I expect we would love your gorgeous cupcakes!

Thanks lady!!!! I was given a pic they wanted similar to and I think it turned out well! I did a double barrel bottom though.
Absolutely brilliant 5 nights at Freddie’s cake!!!! This is my Harry Potter cake!! Never watched the film in my life!
! Everything is edible even the lenses in the glasses ( made from gelatin plastic!) there’s was also a chocolate frog and disgusting tasting jelly beans lol!!!
Crazy busy last few weeks for me. I should have made a cake for my brother in law, but changed my plan... We've learn 3 weeks ago that my mom is having a stage 4 pancreatic cancer. This is not good... I've change my vacation plan to take care of her and go to all the many doctors and other specialist appointment and also her first chemio treatment. My dad is realy not dealing well with the situation...
Anyway, I just want to say that I've managed to come a few time here on CC and it's alway a little bit of sunshine for me to see all the beautiful cakes you've made. Thumbs up to all of you and thanks for beeing there. Big hug.

These are all amazing. I'm a gigantic Harry Potter nerd and fell madly in love with your cake, Shellbell. You hit every aspect just right. I would never have thought of avocado buttercream, but now I'm curious to try it. Perfect drips on both of those and gorgeous detail on the Five Nights cake (though I'm completely clueless about that).
I'm doing a shower cake for this weekend. So I'll share my work next week.

My apologies that I am not better at following up with this thread. Life is crazy busy, as I'm sure it is for all of you, and I feel like I'm dropping the ball with this.

@thecanadian160 I'm not familiar with 5 nights at Freddy's other than seeing cakes but I'd say you did a great job! So many details.

I had two cakes this past weekend and then did nothing but veg on Mon and is why I'm just now following up. My first cake was a very simple slab cake to celebrate the upgrades to our wharf, boardwalk and canteen. The community association asked if I could do a cake and I had grand ideas of how to decorate it but they wanted it to be kept very simple. I was confused by the color scheme they wanted as it looks more like baby shower colors but they were thrilled with it! (they also requested the balloons on the cake).
My second cake was for my nephew's 19th birthday. He moved out on his own this summer and doesn't have much in the way of cooking skills. He figured since he likes hot dogs that he'd also like Vienna sausages and that they would be a cheap and quick "meal" with no need to cook. He managed to eat one and then spit out the 2nd one saying they tasted awful! Sorry Maple Leaf Foods, apparently Vienna sausages aren't for everyone! The UPC code is his birth date, a little added detail that not everyone might pick up on.
Pretty sheet cake, Kelly and the Vienna Sausage cake is incredible and makes me happy! Yes, the flowers on my cake are my one and only foray into wafer paper. Thank you.
