I have recently agreed to make a wedding cake for a couple.  This will be my first ever wedding cake. I'm nervouse about transporting the cake to the venue.  Any suggestions or recommendations on how to get it there safely?

If it’s a tiered cake I would use SPS and then package in a sturdy box

How far away is the venue? Depending on the space available and the type of decorations on the cake, you could look into assembling it on site. Frost all of the tiers and transport them in separate boxes, then stack and apply the final decorations when you get there.

Make sure the cake is thoroughly chilled before you go. And if it's a long one, building an insulated box for transport is a good idea.

charity00, I agree with LindsayH, but if you give us some idea of the design - how many tiers - and the type cake - buttercream, fondant, ganache???? - we could better advice.
