So this weekend we're having our twins' 3rd bday party and having family and friends over...well our kids (mostly the bigger two) have decided on a Pokemon cake...which should've been a no brainer since the four of them are obsessed with Pokemon...the old first 150! It's literally the only show/movie that the kids will stop what they're doing and be glued to the show. lol.

So I made the starters (and remade and remade) the starters and finally they're coming together to where I'm satisfied with. I came up with this crazy idea to incorporate Mew inside it's bubble. I was thinking of doing a gelatin bubble...but the problem is Mew and the others would be made in fondant with Tylose added in. AND I've never made a gellatin bubble.  I would love to make Mew kinda floating like he does in the bubble....is there someway to attach him without melting the gelatin or the fondant? To color it would I just add the food coloring to the water or the gelatin?  Would any of this even work?

Any advice would be fantastic! Even if its that I've lost it. lol.

Once your gelatin bubble sets it will be hard and you will have one side that is of course open, I would use the open side to your advantage by making a structure inside the creature that extends out through the tail then attaching the creature to the cake using whatever support structure you have coming from the tail then placing the gelatin bubble over the creature and attaching to the cake so that you can't see the open side.

Then only the tail will appear to be touching anything and the rest of the creature will appear to be suspended mid air inside the bubble.

Once the bubbles are set they are super tough but make sure to make a few spares in case you break some getting the balloons out or they are a shape that you are not happy with etc.

To get the round shape blow the balloons up and then tie them right up tight to where you have blown them up rather than at the end of the balloon where you usually would.

To release the air put a slight nick in the thick part of the balloon and release air slowly rather than popping the balloon as this will pull the gelatin in and collapse your bubble.
