Can anyone trouble shoot this problem? I can't for the life of me figure it out! It didn't stick to pan, just came out like this
Did you use a knife to loosen up the edges before turning it out? If so, that could have caused the rippling/tearing.
I used my small angled spatula flush with edge. Have more layers in oven now, I won’t do that with these and see what I get....thanks!!!
It is hit or miss for me when I loosen the edges. Sometimes they come out clean but other times my knife may be at a slight angle and it causes this to happen (mainly when I am in a super rush). Luckily a good crumb coat and final coat of buttercream cleans everything up!
OMG!!!! That was it, I just recently started doing and I didn’t put 2&2 together!!! You saved my life, these are wedding cakes due this wknd. Thank you so much!!!!!! You saved me tears!!!!
It literally never crossed my mind that that was it!!! You have done your good deed for the day, I was freakin out .
Ok let’s see if you can trouble shoot this, holes in my cake, NO MATTER WHAT I DO!!! I still get these. I mix on low, never more time than it calls for, I bang pans on counter, then run toothpick through batter to break them up, and I STILL get them!! The cake taste great, those holes are UGLY
Hmmm, not sure about that one because I do what you do except I use a butter knife instead of a toothpick.
But your cake looks super yummy!
Thanks, will try, they taste really good, but those holes make me crazy! Gonna try turning oven temp down too, see if that helps.
It's Global Sugar Arts white wedding cake mix....it's fantastic. I used to be a scratch snob, but this stuff is good!
