Question About Stripes

I am trying to make gold stripes like the ones on the cake below, but I have no idea how to??? Any ideas??? Also, I am having troubles with CakeCentral and I can't reply.

Roll out your fondant.  Use a straight edge ruler to mark desired width.  Use  the ruler as and edge and cut strips with a pizza wheel.  Or possibly and fondant extruder if you want a rounded stripe.

It is pretty hard to see this cake, but I agree with whatthedogate, just cut thin strips of fondant or gumpaste, which is sturdier.  To transport them to your cake, fold them over on themselves or roll them up to prevent them from breaking.
