Hi All,
I have to make a chocolate truffle cake,on which have to do some golden painting...
Please suggest me whether should I use gold luster dust or gold edible paint..
I don't know the difference between these two as i have not used either before..
In the local store both are available...the gold edible paint and gold luster dust..just confused which one should I buy..
Thanks....

Without the names of the products, I don't really know what type of products you are mentioning.  I guess luster dust must be the powder that is typically mixed with alcohol to be used for painting.  I am not familiar with an edible gold paint, other than airbrush colors.  With no more information to go on, I would recommend the powdered gold dust mixed with alcohol.  Depending upon where you are located,  the metalic products may not be classified as edible.  In the USA, they are called food safe, not edible and are typically used on trim which can be removed prior to serving.
