I need to frost a double layer cake and decorate it. How many batches would I need to make? Also, what are your thoughts on cream cheese frosting? Do kids like it?

I love cream cheese frosting and most kids do too. I would double the recipe for a 2 layer cake. 

I have a slightly different recipe for mine. I don't use any cream in mine, I beat butter, icing sugar and golden syrup together until it's light and fluffy, then add the cream cheese and vanilla bean paste. People love it.
