Hi All,

I'm currently trying to make me first cake and I'm having a dilemma with the figurines.

I've been told to add CMC Tylose to the fondant in order to make it hard which is fine however I'm not the quickest at modelling so my question is, how do I add fondant to hardened fondant? I've watched a tutorial and have been thinking that I should make the legs of the figurine and leave overnight for more stability because adding the body and head but I don't know how it would go if the legs were rock hard?

Hope it all makes sense!

Look forward to hearing from you all!

Thanks,

Renai

Once you add the Cmc powder it fondant it doesn't harden right away. So I would make all the body parts, set aside to dry for about 20-30 min check on them, it might take longer than that depending. Before it is completely hard I would add the head to the body. So add it when its not fully dry so you have less chance of anything cracking. Once you add the body parts to the head I would have support behind the whole structure, let it dry over night.

Good luck to you
