I have a large order of cake pops for a wedding this weekend and I am having trouble getting the candy melts to melt properly.  I made some with plain white melts and they came out fine.  I always add paramount crystals to them since they are not thin enough.

I need to make some gray and pink pops also, but when I try to melt a mixture of colors, none of them come out right.  I am careful to make sure they are not overheating, have tried adding vegetable shortening, and nothing is helping.  I am on my third batch that I have had to toss.  I am mixing pink, white, blacl and yellow melts to get the shade I need, and have done this before, but something is just not working today.  I would appreciate any suggestions!  I attached a picture of a cake pop I dipped in the melts so you can see the problem.

It's been my experience that when such unevenness happens the candy melts are old :(   I've usually been able to thin it down using shortening or paramount
