I bake twice a year for my kids birthdays.  I love costco's pound cake.  It's moist, dense, and very flavorful.  I want a recipe that can be made into a layer cake that would yield similar results, and ideally is pretty easy.  Also if you have a chocolate recipe that is moist, dense, flavorful and easy I want that too!  I've been using box cake and preparing it with whole milk instead of water and melted butter instead of oil, its sort of okay but it isn't dense enough, and it still has a slight chemical flavor in my opinion.

Thanks for helping me out!

I'm also in search of a frosting recipe for the outside of the cake, that doesn't include shortening but isn't too sweet.  What's the best tasting one that doesn't include shortening?

Trying for the 4th time:(    Having problems trying to post more than 1 link in this post

Can't say I have ever had a pound cake from costco but this recipe matches you description and is an excellent cake:  https://www.cakecentral.com/recipe/7445/the-original-wasc-cake-recipe

Kinchi, was wondering if you tried this recipe and found it to be like a pound cake?  TY
