Unable to post on my original thread, so creating a new post.

I tried making modelling chocolate for the first time. It turned out all crumbly and wont come together into a pliable mass. This is how it looks (pics attached). It´s like  cookies dough. I used regular chocolate (24 ounces) warmed up gradually at 30 sec intervals, to which I added 240 ml of my homemade corn syrup (warmed up for 20 secs). After I mixed it (didn't overmix) and let it rest for an hour, it looked fine. But when I held it in my hands and started kneading it, it had a crumbling texture. Wont come together. It felt like it needed more corn syrup, so I added a couple of table spoons (one at a time). That made it little less dry but it still wont come together ...the mass is separate like the picture shows.

The corn syrup I used had become crystallised. Could that be a problem? I tried to warm up and work on the whole thing but it didn't work.
