I'm attempting to re-create this awesome cake by cakesdecor.com for my daughter' s b-day this weekend. I'm fine with the internal Anti-Gravity Cake - Help Me Brainstorm!structure and initially thought I would use chocolate and just pour it down the rod but now I'm second-guessing that idea. Do you think it was simply poured chocolate melts or would it be better to use modelling chocolate to cover the rod?

I'd appreciate any thoughts! Thanks!

I think its poured chocolate melts, it looks like the rod is done first off the cake then once its dried you stick it in the cake. Then from there you draw a small triangle on the cake, match what color your using to have it meet the rod color and fill in the triangle. I would use a bag and cut a small tip or you could do a squeeze bottle but I think a bag would be easier.
