Stable Chocolate Mousse Cake Filling! Help!

I have a sheet cake topped with a round layer cake to do for this Thursday. It's an Army Funeral of a friend. She wants chocolate cake with chocolate mousse. I had to take the lazy route and make a "Mock" mousse (pudding + whipping cream) but I also don't want it to be so complicated that it doesn't work. Any ideas?
