I have never made a drip cake before but for grandsons 1st Birthday cake my daughter would like a black/grey/white & yellow buttercream cake  The thing is she would like a BLACK DRIP TOP. I have never done one of these before. She definitely does not want dark brown. It must be BLACK as BLACK. it's for a Batman cake. Can anyone help me with recipe of the black gel? mix?????

Thankyou .

What is black gel? I use black candy melts.

Which black candy melts do you use? Do they have a name? Are they like a jelly bean or are they like chocolates. When you say candy melts I'm unsure what type of candy you mean.

i really need something that is a true black to put on top on the cake.

Thank you for replying. I'm hoping you will answer this question too.

I don't know what these candy melts are made of but I'd like to find out. Surely they are available in Australia.
