I need some input on the best way to make the lines for this lumberjack cake. what brush to use ect.... Any ideas?[postimage id="5701" thumb="900"]
Hi, guess it would depend on what size black lines you want, if you wanted them a 1/2" wide use a 1/2" wide flat straight top brush for those lines, I use regular artist brushes used only for decorating, and to get them straight I would use piece of parchment paper template lined up cause without that mine would look like I hit a few bars before I started lol. Hope this helps, love that cake design by the way

When I did this gingham pattern I first drew lines with edible markers and a straight edge, since I didn't think I could paint such nice clean edges. Then I filled it in by painting with a very dilute tinted royal icing. I made it a little lighter in color in one direction than the other to match the gingham sample I had. HTH
