So I did a dummy cake for fun and my portfolio. I'd love to know what you guys think. Any flaws need fixing? Design looks good? Keep in mind I'm out of gold but I can order more. I'm going to take a proper picture once I get cake central's go ahead lol

I like the clean lines of it, that's just my thing.  The only thin I can think to add is maybe something gold(when you get it) - at the feet of the couple, a small flower or something...just to add a bit of balance to the whole thing....kind of gold black gold black...etc.  but it's not strictly nesessary it's fine the way it is.

You mean on the top tier? I was thinking the same thing.

What theme/design did you have in mind?

I can't see much as I'm checking it on my phone. But I love those little cushions. Just watched a tutorial the other day on how to make them and hoping for an order with that design soon lol.

From what I see so far it looks good...but that's probably not what you wanted to hear...

So a few thoughts...Are the black strings fondant or RI? I'd probably make them a bit thinner and delicate and add some sort of ??? where they reach the top edge. Can't see the middle tier at all...my screen is too small and it's a bit dark in the picture. Love the bottom tier but would make the dots way smaller. At first glimpse I thought those were pralinés in between. And the cushions a bit more rounded.

Love the colour scheme! White Black gold...very elegant.

Don't  shoot me for giving you my honest feedback please. Could I do the cake better? Probably not hahaha!!!! So in that respect I should not criticise anything... Hope you'll post another picture once it's painted in gold and with more light.

It's what I asked for lol

The strings are fondant I thought about making them thinner but I like them chunky on this cake.

The bottom tier with the beautiful cushions may look better if about 2" taller.

All I had was 3" for the bottom tier. Another 2" is on the way :-)

The cake really looks clean and sleek (My favorite.) I do agree with the taller cushions. Other than that you are golden smile.png

Ahhhh.... that's why it looks short.  Another 2" in height should do it!

I had enough to make the top tier 5" high and thought it would even out, guess not lol
