Ive been asked to make the cake for my cousin's sweet sixteen, which isnt for months so I have lots of time to practice.  Im pretty comfortable working with fondant but I havent gotten too intricate with it...mostly just covering cakes, doing cut outs, and some very basic figures.  Ive never worked with gum paste but Im planning to do some practicing with it.  This is the cake they gave as an example...they said I can get creative but the basic theme they want.  So far Im wondering whats the best material to do the scrolled letter with, gum paste or fondant??  My other question is what type of bow is that considered??  Ive seen tutorials and info for loopy bows and for bow ties, but can seem to find one for this kind (and I dont know what to call it to search for it lol).  Bonus points if someone could give me a link for how to do that kind of bow!  Thanks so much in advance!

I'm seeing a cake with a pink bow and black musical bars, is that it? The photo's on this site are weird now and often don't relate to what the OP means in historical threads.

That's the easiest bow of the lot, there are youtube vids by cakestepbystep that show you how to make this. Good luck x

If you look close you can see the wire coming out the bottom of the H.  You want to use Gumpaste for the letter.
