Hi everyone!
Only muffin baking made the schedule this week. I did win the bake off at work and got my blu-ray copy of The Martian today as my prize! This upcoming week will bring donuts...if you have made them please give me tips?
In America this Sunday brings Mother's Day. My plans are really to do absolutely nothing except go to the movies. Other than that I just want peace and quiet and to not have to do anything. Hope you all have a lovely day and that your families find a way to spoil you!

Busy week for me with Mother's day on Sunday. I baked & decorated 72 cookies & 32 cupcakes. I'll post pictures tomorrow night as right now I need sleep. Tomorrow is going to be a long day with pottery class in the morning for three hours followed by our student pottery sale for two hours. I won't get home until supper time & then have some final Mother's day deliveries to make. Hope to see lots of great cakes when I finally get back on here.

No orders for me this week thank goodness! Husband was deathly ill to hear him tell it - he had a bad cold... but it was good I had time to take care of the books and just bake for my mom for Mother's Day. She loves lemon shortbread cookies. Planning to make a cupcake bouquet for our big family dinner tomorrow night. It will give me a chance to give these Russian tips a go. My brother is is making the meat and all the kids are making the side dishes. It will be interesting to see what they come up with. There are 4 of them, the youngest is 14 and the oldest is 24 so they should be capable.
Of course you won the contest @catlharper - never doubted you would! Congratulations

Happy Mother's Day to all you moms! I did sugar cookie bouquets and cupcakes for Mother's Day. For the cookies, I followed a video by Montreal Confections. If you like to make cookies and don't already follow her, I highly suggest that you start. Her videos are great!
I changed up the display from how she did hers & love how they turned out. They were a lot of work but I think worth the effort. I used green tissue paper as greenery. All the little details for the cupcakes were done using plunger cutters.
Such beautiful and creative work, everyone! No cake from me this weekend - did not have any orders, and decided to skip making anything for Mother's Day.

@SweetShop5 yes, the centers of the flowers are airbrushed. I used pink on both the pink & yellow flowers which looks orange on the yellow ones.
