Hello,

I've been asked to do a similar cake as the attached photo. I believe it's hand painted. Can someone recommend any specific brushes, colourings, painting technics please?

Thank you very much in advance!

The mediums used when hand painting cakes is either cocoa butter or you use an alcohol or extract and petal dusts....if you want an opaque finish use cocoa butter....it allows you to layer colours while keeping the colours separate.....If you want a transparent look (where you can see the colours merge where they meet) mix the petaldust with an alcohol like vodka...everclear...or lemon extract.....do note with everclear the paint dries really fast thus you need to be sure about what you are doing.......its a lovely cake ....It looks like they used vodka to me........have fun!
