Hi all! I am making a dark chocolate cake with a cherry filling. I would like to infuse my simple syrup for the cake with a liqueur but I'm not sure what would be the BEST flavor. I was thinking brandy or amaretto...or should I keep it sweet with a vanilla vodka? I have no idea.  I would love any feedback anyone would like to share :0)

Consider using kirsch, which is a cherry liqueur, or a cherry brandy.

Kirschwasser (like in black forest) or amaretto is nice
