What Is "metro" Icing?

Mariano's bakery has the regular buttercreams & whip cream frosting but they also offer one called "METRO" Icing. Its lighter & not sugar gritty like butter cream and it's heavier/thicker than a whip cream frosting. This icing is flipping FANTASTIC and I'm trying to find a cheat recipe to try & make. Any ideas?

Have you tried an Italian or Swiss meringue buttercream? It's lighter. My American buttercream isn't gritty at all since I switched to using only cane sugar for my 10x powdered sugar and mix it for longer now. Maybe it purely artificial like Bettercreme?
