I need to make a naked wedding cake but the bride wants a cascade of sugar flowers on it.  I have sort of a heavy selection (peonies, roses, dahlias, orchids).  Can I put them on the cake as if it was a fondant cake?  Will the weight of the flowers tear the cake apart? Please help!!!

I looked up pictures and most were real flowers but here's one with sugar flowers so it can be done!  It looks like she stacked the flowers in sort of a pyramid shape to support the weight.  This cake is truly naked.  I like the look better when there's a super thin layer of buttercream better...

I made a massive cascade using wafer paper flowers. I printed off the wafer sheets first before punching out the flowers and shaping them. Can be finished off with gold or coloured powders- AND took a fraction of the time!!  See here...
