I need to sculpt 2 dragons that will climb up the side of a 2 tier cake. Im fairly new to making toppers and Im not sure which sugar medium to use. Gum paste dries nice and colors well but I havent had sucess with getting seams to blend (worried about attaching all the little spikes and wings) Chocolate clay shapes nice and blends well but dont know how to get color to stick to it?

I would use colored modeling chocolate. It's easier to connect pieces, and if you wanted to paint it later you could make a paint with cocoa butter and petals dusts or candy colors.

Thanks, I always wondered how to paint on the clay. Everything Ive tried beads off. Wonder where I could find cocoa butter?
