Has anyone ever made something like this?   I don't know what bakery to give credit to,  but am stumped about how to support the ball in the glove.   Any one have an idea?   TIA!55ef909d0bd32.jpeg

Perhaps use styrofoam, seems anything else would me too heavy.

I would like everything to be edible if possible,  but lilqtangie, that might be the way to go.   Thanks for the idea.

If not styrofoam how about RKT?

I was thinking about part of the glove being RKT, but hadn't considered the ball itself.  Another good thing to think about.  Thanks all! I'll be sure to post what I come up with!

y'know you could make a little baby plate in there to put the ball on where it holds all the weight  of the ball and just rests between the glove and yes i  think rkt for ball and glove are good ideas as pastrybaglady sagely suggests -- then the little plate is attached to a pole/dowel that sinks into the board below and just has the little ledge for the ball --

do you get what i mean?

but the ball has to be fashioned around the ledge not just set on there

Thanks, K8...I was thinking that originally.  That particular cake looks like the ball is up a litte out of the glove, but I bet if I do it right, you wouldn't notice a dowel.  I appreciate the suggestions!

If you use rkt for the ball, make sure you let the glove set a few days because that ball is going to be heavy.
