Hey All,

I am planning to bake and decorate cake for my Son'd birthday party in Oct . I am not a huge fan of buttercream icing so thinking abut using whipped cream or dairy free whipped cream. Problem is can't do much elaborate decoration that I want with whipped cream :(   Just want to know , can I use Whipped Ganache decorations on top of whipped cream? will colors bleed? and Can I color milk chocolate ganache with black color?

TIA

(I am relatively new baker)

I am going to presume you are referring to the typical standard american buttercream made with powdered sugar...

But...

Have you tried any of the cooked buttercreams?

There are several out there... They are less sweet and creamy...

The cooked icings are fairly easy to make...

There is also Swiss and Italian Meringue buttercreams out there...

I prefer Swiss because I am not good at pouring the sugar syrup for italian...

They tend to be buttery...
