I am going to make 3 tiered wedding cake and bottom two are dummies and only top is real cake.

Do you frost dummies  then assemble or do you assemble dummies first then frost with buttercream? When I assemble dummies, does the 2nd dummy stay on top of buttercream frosting dummy well? I am wondering if 2nd  dummy sink and touch to the surface of  the bottom dummy but not sit on the buttercream frosting. Thanks.

Some 90% of my display cakes were iced in b'cream.  I personally iced each tier (real or dummy) separately then stack.

There is NO chance of your tiers sinking into each other :)  The Styrofoam is very dense and will hold up almost any amount of cake on top of it.  NO need for dowels or any other support in the dummies.

does the 2nd dummy stay on top of buttercream frosting dummy well?

Hi kakeladi,

I thank you for your reply and hope to get them done without any troubles.

I hope I don't have to ask you anything tomorrow. Thanks again.
