Hello, All!

I decided to give cake decorating a try  a year or so ago and have been learning here and there whenever I have questions. I have made a bunch of cakes and consider myself pretty good since I don't have any real education about it.

I will be making a display cake for my wedding in late September. I was thinking of using fondant for the decor such as drapes, stars and a miniature Millennium Falcon(Star Wars  starship). This will all be going onto styrofoam for a faux cake.

I read that with starting fondant displays ahead of time you run the risk of losing color. I want everything white so will there still be a color issue with this if I start making everything now? Do I need to store everything in a certain place? Or cover it?

Also, we live in Arizona and our weather is so unpredictable around September so if it is a hot or humid day, will this melt or get messed up being outside even though it's super dry and hard since it was made so far ahead?

P.s. I've already made the Millennium Falcon.
