How To Do This Pixel Type Design On The Top Of The Cake?

Wondering how I can do the top green layer of the cake without it having looked stretched55b13dad32892.jpeg out?  Thanks

If you roll out the findant and cut to proper size before placing on cake, you shouldnt get too much stretching. You could even cut it after you place it on the cake, provided you're very careful not to cut too deep.

Roll out the fondant to about 2" bigger than the cake you are covering.  Then cut away where you want the pixels to be.  If you rolled the fondant on a cakeboard you can just flop the finished cutaway onto the cake to avoid stretching.   Otherwise carefully lift it onto a rolling pin to transfer to the cake, working quickly.

kakeladi great advice about using a cakeboard...I think that'll make it easier to attach it to the cake.
