Hi, I am making a cake for a friends birthday. Their birthday isn't until a week on sunday but i need to have the cake to them by this monday.

The cake will be sponge with butter cream and icing. I was wondering as to what the best way of keeping it stored is so that it is still as fresh as possible for a weeks time?

Thanks

Freeze it. If you have a box or container you can fit it in, enclose the box or container in a plastic bag - unscented garbage bags work well. Defrost at room temperature in the bag and container. If deep colours like red or black were used, sometimes the colour may bleed out slightly into lighter colours.

That's great thank you I will give it a go. I have used red and black but will just have to hope it doesn't come out too bad. Thanks for the reply :)
