Hi,
I am planning to bake a cake for my mum whose birthday is next month. My mums interest lies in sewing and gardening and I wanted to incorporate both in the cake. It will be an small cake and I am lost on ideas. My mum is my role model and she taught me how to bake as a little girl and I just want to do something special for her. I am a hobby baker and I would really really appreciate any thoughts.

Just saw this cake on CakeCentral and saved to my Favorites. It should be a perfect design for your mum! Instead of making the "quilt" pattern a Star pattern, make a daisy and edge the "petals" with the "thread" like the decorator did on this cake. You could also do some "leaves" and edge those with "thread" as well.
