First Timer.....icing Dilemma

Could somebody please let me know how you fit smoothed rolled icing to a square cake. I cannot get the corners of the cake right. Thanks icon_sad.gif

Welcome to Cake Central! Sorry I can't help. Never done fondant on a square cake before.

You want to start in the corners first, sorta hold the fondant away from the side and "cupping" the fondant to the cake gentle smooth it. Don't pull the fondant to hard it may crack. make sure and have the cake on top of something to raise it above your table but something smaller than your cake so you have some room to cut away extra at bottom. Do the corners before the sides. Once you smooth each corner the sides seem to fall into place
