I have a wedding cake in a couple of weeks time. The design is very simple. Just a regular 3 tiered ivory coloured fondant cake. Top 2 tiers vanilla sponge with vanilla buttercream and bottom is rich fruit cake. there's no ganache involved here! the bride doesnt like it!

When it comes to fondant I've always trusted Tesco and Asda not because they're cheap but because I liked the way you can work with them. but recently I found Tesco's fondant cracking and giving me elephant skin at times. So now its just been Asda.

As this is going to be an ivory colored cake I didnt want to colour the cake by myself because I'd mess up the shades of the tiers if I have to mix the color in separate batches and then theres the 'arms aching' bit all the way!

So thus I was thinking of using Renshaws ivory fondant icing. I've used it in the black and brown but in small parts to decorate.

Have any of you used the ivory colour? Does it sit well on the cake? Especially if its buttercream?

Does it taste alright?

And does it crack or cause elephant skin?

I'd really appreciate it if I could get some advice on this brand.

Many Thanks in advance for taking time to read out and help me.
