Hi Everyone,

This is my first time posting. I am looking at upgrading my kitchen in preparation for starting a cake business from home and was just wondering in peoples opinions what was the best oven for cake baking. It would beed to be a 60cm wall oven. I have been looking at the steam ovens but not sure if they are worth it and also would like it to be pyrolytic?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Hi there,

My situation is a little different, but in case it helps...

I've just bought a new oven and live in Australia too. I was limited as it had to be an upright/free-standing gas oven. I ended up getting a "Belling" and after my first 2 months with it, and quite a few cakes, am very happy with it.

I learnt that Chef and Whirlpool really are the same ovens (just with different names and Whirlpool is more expensive). My previous oven was Chef - only a few years old, and just didn't cut it. Apparently the saying of "they don't make them like they used to" is true for Chef ovens!

Happy shopping - if you haven't already bought one! :-)
