Is it practical to make a wedding cake from Kahlua chocolate cake?  My test Kahlua cake is so heavy that it does not seem like this type of cake can be successfully layered into tiers.  The bride wants a three tiered cake, and it doesn't seem like Kahlua cake can be layered and tiered like this.

Has anyone made a kahlua wedding cake?  What would you suggest?

If you're not happy with the recipe, try another. Kahlua cake has no standard of identity, other than it should include Kahlua (even if it's just a teaspoon). My bakery made a Kahlua cake - it was a chocolate cake I'd adapted from a Hershey recipe. And it was one of our top-selling wedding cakes.  

I've baked Kahlua into my chocolate cake recipe before and it was gooood. Mimi's right, just find a different recipe if the one you have isn't working for you.
