Hey Everyone,

I've made a few three tiered cakes before, but this January I'm giong to attempt my first wedding cake.  I'm planning on making a four tiered cake (6, 10, 14 and 18).  Normally, my bottom tier is 12 inches or less.  My current turntable is 12 inches in diameter.  I'm wondering how those of you who ice larger tiers do things.  Do you have a larger turntable, or do you put the 18 inch cake board on the 12 inch turntable and make things work?

a lazy susan that could handle the weight would be best -- or you could just put it on the top of the right sized table and walk around it -- i don't think i'd put it on a footed turntable because you run the risk of getting it a little off center (bam!)  so if you do keep a constant check with your hand underneath --  safety first ;) i mean just sloshing it around and around on the counter might be a good idea too --

best to you
