I have been asked to make a hunting cake and the camo is no problem for me but he wants shotgun shells around the bottom.  Gum paste would work, of course, but he would like to have them edible and it would be enough gum paste that I would have to charge extra (which this customer would prefer I not have to do as they are on a budget).  Has anyone else ever made them out of chocolate?  I cannot find a mold anywhere but thought that somebody may have come up with a creative way to do it.  Thanks!

I used fondant & tylose, but sure, you could use modeling chocolate.  here's the mold.  Jennifer Dontz has a really nice website, and she's a wonderful decorator.
