I'm from Denmark and here we have some rather strict rules regarding food safety. For example when using an airbrush for cake decorating not only do the colors have to be food safe, but the airbrush gun itself has to be approved for use with food.

Now I was wondering what the rules are in other countries, particularly in the UK. I know of two brands of airbrush that are specifically marketed as useable in cake decorating, DinkyDoodle and Cassie Brown, but are these actually approved for food contact and do the UK even have any rules for that?

Personally I don't care that much. I use a regular airbrush (which has never been in contact with anything but food colors), but when recommending airbrushes to new users, I would like to at least have my facts straight :-)
